Thanks in advance, you're my favorite miniature related subreddit, and a bunch of beautiful bastards to boot. It occurs to me that it might just be the low surface tension of plain water, but was told by a few hobbyists that it was the safest way to get introduced to the basic function of an airbrush, so I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong. I'm no more educated on the subject this afternoon than I was when I started.

I'm assuming my google-fu is just really weak, but I spent 2 hours last night trying to get a simple guide to how to control the flow on a dual action airbrush. It drains the reservoir rapidly and at no point can I get a spray of less than 1/2 inch or so in diameter (with little trails of water blasted from the point of contact in all directions).
I depress the trigger, and regardless of whether or not I pull back, there is a substantial spray of water (20psi on the compressor). So far, it's been an all or nothing affair. I've been running water through it onto cardboard, to practice lines, tic tac toe, writing my name, etc. What I haven't figured out yet is how to fine tune the airbrush itself.
